"Tropical storm" Irene

So it turns out we survived the hurricane turned tropical storm, Irene.  The wind got strong, the trees were a blowing and it rained for a few hours.  Luckily, I slept through every minute of it.  Unfortunately, when I awoke on Sunday morning our power had gone out.  That meant, no Sesame for me today.  So I really put my mind to work and played with some puzzles, took some naps on my Dad's back and ran around the house like a lunatic hoping mom or dad would eventually chase me.
Come dinner time our power was still out and we feared the extreme boredom of living with no TV would get the best of us so mom and dad decided we should drive back to the city till we regained power.  Before leaving we put some items from the fridge on ice.  I figured it just made sense that I get into the cooler to make sure it was the right fit for everything we needed to store.  Yup.  Looks good.
Dad took the week off which was so awesome so we got to hang out in the city for the day while Mom did some work.  We got word that our power had come back on so we hopped into the car and drove back out the house this afternoon.  When we got back everything looked normal there were just some leaves on the ground that needed some sweeping.  So mom and dad put me to work.  I was happy to assist since I'm better known around the house as the #1 helper.
Now that my job is done here…we can go on with our week…so glad this tropical storm is over!
