That's right folks. My mom is running a full blown B&B out in the Hamptons. It's unbelievable actually. And I've been recruited to help her. We wash sheets, clean the bathrooms, wash the floors...don't ask. I think I deserve a raise! By far - this was the craziest week yet....
So after rock band class with Papa, Mom and I ran a few errands and then hit the road. We were on our way out to the house and picked up our dear friend Jenny who booked a trip to hang with us for a week. We couldn't have been more excited to see her little tush. She hopped into the car and we got on our way. Timing was a little later then we planned so instead of starving me Mom stopped at the Outback for some ribs and baked potato and then we continued on our way home. Right to bed I went while the fun continued for my mom...our Auntie Marissa (AM) had also come to town with her friend Ellen. Their plan was to drive to NYC, park their car in the Hamptons, spend a few nights and then make their way to Manhattan for a few days. They would then come back to the Hamptons to get their car and drive home. It was a brilliant plan actually. They got some great QT with me, a ton of time in the city to see shows, eat great meals and do some serious shopping and they saved on the flights! Ok - back to the beginning here. So my mom, Jenny, Aunt Marissa and Ellen hung out for the night, opened fantastic gifts (Roots clothes from AM and Ellen and awesome housewares from Jenny!) and then got some rest for the big weekend...
The next day was Thursday. Mom and Jenny went out to grocery shop while I got to play with AM and Ellen. We had a ball! They let me nap, sang to me, fed me, changed me...the works. Leave it to AM...she's a wiz with us kids! We later hit the beach. It was a pretty hot day and I've got to be honest with you...I don't love the beach!! I hate getting sand in my tushie and there's not a lot of shade. Well I made the gang well aware of my feelings as I melted down while literally melting from the heat. Think this was my mom's shortest trip to the beach to date.
We got home and made a lovely lunch of Greek orzo salad with shrimp. I napped while the big kids enjoyed. Followed by a delectable dinner...no one went hungry this weekend!
It's now Friday - good bye AM and Ellen...Hello Lindsey and Joey!! Newly engaged, my Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Joey made the trip out to the Hamptons to visit our new digs. I was SO happy to FINALLY have a male around the house I squealed and hung on Joey from the second he walked in till the second I went to sleep!
We had to ditch the group for a few hours on Saturday to attend Chloe's 1st birthday party in Southampton. She had a pool party at her Grandpa's house and I had the best time! I swung around in her play set, had a jump on the trampoline, watched my uncle Ben and Papa jump on the trampoline (scary sight) and gave my good friend a kiss for her 1st bday!
It was a fabulous weekend and I so enjoyed seeing everyone. I look forward to seeing all of them again in Toronto in a couple of weeks!
