Have you missed me? It's been quite some time since I've had a chance to write! Want to know why? Because my crazy mother has been keeping me BUSY! Woah! We've been so busy it's starting to turn her hair grey...I found 2 grey hairs on her head today - yikes MA!
So what have we been so busy with you ask? Well let's see here...we bought a house - uh, ya! We are first time homeowners - this is a huge deal! We got a home in Quogue, NY. It's a modest part of the Hamptons that is really beautiful and very quaint and quiet - Mom and Dad LOVE this part of the town! The house is so beautiful. A brand new build (never lived in) and is everything we dreamed a vacation home could be.
So needless to say we've been a bit crazed moving in and getting set up. Rewind to the week we got home from Palm Springs...Mom was hired to be a wedding coordinator on Saturday June 19th. She had TONS of work to do for the wedding so she hired a babysitter to watch me a few days that week so she could take care of business. My babysitter's name is Margarita and she's very pretty!
On top of buying a house and taking on a wedding, my mom offered to host a birthday party for her good pal Alicia. It was her 30th so she took on this project with great pleasure! However - add this into the mix. Mom was so crazed this week I hardly saw her. But - being the work horse that she is...she pulled together a beautiful party for Alicia with a delicious Mexican spread and the wedding was unreal! The clients were so thrilled and happy with her work - way to go ma!
I got to hang out with the party goers for Alicia's birthday...and had a blast with all of the guests!
As for the day ma worked the wedding, I hung back with Papa, Eddie and Lenny. We had a ball playing football in the park together!!
The fun didn't stop here...that Sunday (june 20th - also Aunt Deb's bday...) was Father's day! Mama and I surprised Papa with the following:
1.) An apron with my picture on it (with smoothie all over my face)
2.) A personalized picture of my hands and feet stamped onto a sheet of paper
3.) The big green egg. Do you know what this is? Let me explain it to you...its a big green egg. No joke. Looks like an egg. And what does it do? It smokes food (like a BBQ but better) on which you can make the most delicious ribs, chicken...etc...etc...the list goes on! Papa was dying for one like his friend Josh has so Ma did some research and pulled the trigger. It's now sitting on the deck next to the stunning BBQ that Granny and Poppi bought for me for a housewarming gift! IF you ever decide to get this green big egg...check out these videos to get started...very helpful! The Big Green Egg Videos.
We loaded our car with all of the things that Ma packed up from our apartment for the new house and drove out to Granny and Poppi's house. They picked up bagels and cream cheese and we had a nice breakfast together. Then we loaded up BOTH of their cars with all of the things that we had been storing at their house and drove out to our new home. When Mom walked into the house and looked at all of the boxes she almost had a coronary. She needed to be ALONE and power through everything. So believe it or not...she let me sleep at Granny and Poppi's for the night! What fun!! I had a blast with them and slept so great. She got through every box - by 1am. Unreal Ma. Unreal. You are truly nuts.
The next day Aunt Kelly and Hunter joined us for a night so they could hang with me while Mom ran around and took care of things for the house...I had a blast wtih them! Hunter is so sweet and gentle with me and we had a ton of fun playing together...while Aunt Kelly had her hands full with us 2 wild boys!
Now that we were all set up in the house and ready to go...it was time to focus on decorating...so let me fill you in on what the story is here...
So Mom has a little bit of help here...much needed...his name is Guillaume and he's a french decorator and is the bomb! Mom told him she wants the house set up by end of June (giving him one month - HA!) and what has done? An incredible job!! He has found gorgeous antiques, great deals on furniture and has the house totally done! Seriously! We are only waiting on a few things...and mom doesn't like to wait...but tough, she'll have to deal!!
So now the big stuff was done...we had to do the little stuff...Mom dragged me to Target, Bed Bath, BJ's, the farmer's market, butcher, Stop N Shop - you name it! At least I got to finally sit in a shopping cart - woo hoo!
On Saturday we invited the family over for a bbq to honor Granny and Poppi's 39th wedding anniversary. Papa smoked ribs with his new toy and they turned out SO delicious! Cousin Morgan gobbled up 2 of them...and ripped them out of her mom's hands to eat herself!
We had a blast swimming, eating good food and spending quality time together as a family.
After the gang left...we got a large delivery from Ikea. Papa started to put together a bed frame that had arrived and when with a little bit of mom's help was doing a great job...TILL...he got to step #13 out of 16. What happened? The most important part was missing. OMG! Well what do you expect from Ikea? I mean their products are basically free! So Mom had to call them first thing in the morning and found out it was a piece that should have been purchased. How the heck would she have known that? So she got it for free...and went to pick it up while I got dropped at Granny's and Papa powered through EVERYTHING else that was delivered!
Let me tell you this - my mom and dad - are the most perfect pair. They know how to partner together and get things done - I love you guys so much, you are the BEST parents a boy could ever ask for.
