Pizza Pizza

Today was different...Mom learned how to make dough and made homemade bread and pizza!  Who the hell do you think you are Ma?  Chef Daniel Bouley?  You're on fire!  We can't take all the credit this time though...Mom had some major help!  Remember last week we went over to our friends Heather and Saahil's for brunch?  Think I mentioned it...well if I didn't - I'm telling you now.  They are pregnant and due in a few weeks.  I cannot wait to meet my new friend!  Anyway, Heather told us that it's really easy to make your own bread and pizza.  She sent Ma the recipe and Ma thought she was reading Chinese.  She asked Heather if she could come over for a lesson.  So Mom and I got the dough prepped (literally you take yeast + salt + lukewarm water + flour and mix it in a bowl and then let it sit for 2-5 hours).  It had risen nicely by the time Heather arrived.  So we had lunch and then got to work.  First, bread.  She shaped the dough added some flour so we could work with it and then put it in the dutch oven.  Um, hello!  It turned out to be better bread then what they serve at Blue Ribbon Bakery!  No kidding!  And it smelled so good!  I want to make bread with Mom every day now!  Then we made the pizza...so easy and super delicious!  This was a major discovery in our lives today.  Thanks for coaching us Heather!
The plan was to have Heather come today specifically because Genna and Dave were coming over for dinner.  Dad was lucky enough to come home with some Salt Lake ribs that he got from work.  They were bangin good.  Mom was bragging about them all through my bottle the next morning...
So dinner consisted of homemade bread, caesar salad, pizza and ribs.  Man...I cannot wait till I am through the pureed crap and onto the good stuff!  Speaking of which, tonight was day 2 of pears and butternut squash. YUM-O! I love both.
For those of you who read yesterday's blog, I'm attaching the segment that was on Oprah today with Jenna Lyons from J.Crew.  I thought this was pretty cool since Mom used to work here and the company is just so fabulous!  Click here to check out the clip from Oprah.
