Going to the zoo, zoo, zoo...how about you, you you?

As many of you know, my mornings resemble Bill Murray’s from the movie Groundhog Day where each morning is the exact same routine.  7am mom walks into my room.  I greet her with a smile and then look forward to her picking me up and taking me into the living room for breakfast.  After I eat I get a burp, my vitamins and a diaper change.  Following this routine I get to hang out on Mom’s bathroom floor while she takes a shower.  During her shower she sings to me.  She often sings a song by Raffi called going to the zoo.  The chorus goes like this:  We’re going to the zoo, zoo, zoo, how about you? you? you?  you can come to, to, to, we’re going to the zoo, zoo zoo.  Well I’ve always wondered (since she sings this song so very much) what the heck is a zoo?  Well folks, today was the day I got to find out!
After mom got ready for our big day I fell asleep during which time Mom did some work, ate breakfast and got my bag set for the day.
When I woke up I found myself strapped to Mom as we were heading out the door.  We hopped on the N/R train and hit up Times Square.  Mom had to get a gift for a friend’s son and she wanted to get a particular item from Toy’s R Us.  The only location is in time square.  So we walked into the store and Mom went right up to a sales gal to point us in the right direction.  “We’re sold out of your item miss”.  “Are you kidding me?”  My mom said.  “No ma’am, we’re not kidding.  You can try the Discovery Store in Rock center.”  For those of you who know my mom, you know she’s got a short fuse.  Little patience and even less tolerance for people without brains like those who work at Toys R Us.  Don’t get me started…but every time she walks into Babies R Us there is some type of drama.  I felt the same situation coming on here so I quickly put my head down and went to sleep…even though I just slept before leaving the house…thought better I sleep then be embarrassed. Well boy did I make the right choice!  My mom went upstairs to get travel wipes and they didn’t have any!  On top of that, when she checked out with the few (totally unnecessary) items that she did find, she tried to use a coupon and the lady told her it expired yesterday.  What was going through my head at this moment?  RUN LADY RUN!  My mom exploded.  “Give me the name of your CEO!  I want to write a letter!”
After a dramatic outing to Toys R Us we went back home and it was time for lunch.  I got a huge bowl of rice cereal this morning and that was soooo delicious!  I didn’t have a chance to write yesterday and tell you – but Doc G came by and guess what?  I weigh 12 pounds 4 oz now!  And I am 23” tall!  Pretty cool huh?  Yes, I’m still below the 5th percentile but I don’t care!  I’m growing and that’s all that matters!  Doc G said it’s time to start eating rice cereal twice a day now.  Very exciting.
Anyway, after lunch mom started smothering me with kisses.  What’s up with that MA?  You’re always kissing me!  Guess you just love me a TON!
After my lunch Ma had to change me since I got rice cereal all over my clothes…, which I thought, was pretty darn funny.  Aunt Kelly and Hunter arrived soon after.  They were raring to go! We got packed up and got back on the subway (NOTE to BOOBIE:  Yes, I know that the subway looks like it’s really dirty – well it is.  But don’t worry, I was high above the ground and didn’t touch anything.  Mom protected me like a hawk).
We arrived at the Central Park zoo and to our surprise Aunt Kelly had a special pass (thanks to her mom and sister) to get us in for free!  Woo hoo!  We started the tour with the sea lions.  Some gals were standing in their tank feeding them fish.  I asked Mom if I could go inside and ride one – she said no.  Bummer.
We continued on to see the penguins.  I noticed these penguins have a great resemblance to my mom and dad…are we related to this creature?  Mom – you look like a freak in this picture…take it down a notch!
Lone bird:

Continuing on…to the polar bears!  Interesting…this bear looks exactly like Mr. Cuddles.  Don’t remember Mr. Cuddles?  Let me remind you…the funny thing is that this polar bear is yellow and filthy just like Mr. Cuddles is.  Can’t they give him a bath?
Once we completed the tour of the animals, it was 3pm and it was time to eat.  How perfect?  Feeding time at the zoo!  As we sat at a table in the zoo cafeteria, a little girl age 3 years old came up and started talking to us.  Her name was Sparrow and she was not shy.  She had the hots for Hunter but he wasn't into her.  She was touching my toy, his placement and was a real chatty Cathy.  I was thinking - Back it up Babe...you're getting a little too close for comfort thank you very much...
After lunch mom realized that FAO Schwartz was near by.  So we took a trip there so mom could get the gift that she tried to get at Toys R Us earlier in the day.  WOW!  What a cool store!  I was in awe of all of the bright colors, stuffed animals and toys!  I cannot wait to come back and make my own Muppet like they are doing here behind me!

We got home around 5:30 and had to change, clean up and get back on the road.  We were going to meet Papa and Hunter’s Papa Rob for dinner at Wildwood BBQ.

When the food came to the table, Hunter immediately went for his Dad's ribs.  They ended up in a rib eating contest and I wanted IN!  What did I get?  A bottle of milk.  B-O-R-I-N-G!

As I’m sure you can imagine…I got home and hit the hay pretty quickly!  I was so zonked.  What a day!  Click here to see all of the pics from our fun day!
Good night everyone.  And sweet dreams!
