Tree Lightings and Celeb Sightings

It was another pretty mild day in NYC today. Al Gore, I think you may be on to something...because it's now December and it's not cold outside yet...somethings up. Mom and I hit the streets and started our walk around 1pm. We made a stop into Baby Gap to get me a fleece with built in mittens in case we do see a winter this year...as my hands tend to get cold and I need something to go over my clothes with these built in mittens so I don't fling them off so I can stay warm when we go out. Mission accomplished. We then somehow found ourselves back at the Shake Shack...Interesting...When we were leaving the Shake Shack I couldn't help but notice this insane building that they are putting up at 23rd street and Park - could this building be any higher? Don't think so! WOW!

Mom had a big night planned so as scheduled, she got int the shower at 6 so she could feed me by 7 and catch a taxi no later then 7:30 to get to the Paris Theater at 58th and 5th by 8pm for the movie premiere of the Lovely Bones http://www.lovelybones.com/#home. She went with Swanna and Gitty and their friend Steph (who had the brilliant idea for the title of this blog tonight) and has been looking forward to this for months on end. I wasn't overly excited about Mom leaving me tonight, but she deserves it so I got over it.

She showered on time and then fed me...during which we watched the Muppets singing for the Rock Center tree lighting on NBC. As we were watching mom realized the movie premiere that she was going to was right next door...YIKES! Traffic!!!!! She threw on her clothes and I cried because I missed her already...and then she left. Luckily...I was in VERY good hands with my Papa AND luckily Mom got a cab driver who she was able to come up with a strategy for a route that would get her to the premiere on time...and it worked out perfectly!

So here's the gossip I got from Mom when she got home from the premiere...the movie was OK. She doesn't recommend it but it was a good story and the acting was great. Unfortunately Peter Jackson the director used too much fantasy throughout and it made the movie very unrealistic and cheesy. The entire cast (except for Rachel Weisz) was there. It sounded pretty cool. After the movie Mom got to go to the after party at the Oak Room in the Plaza hotel - VERY cool spot! Here is the list of celebs - brace yourself...

Aiden Quinn
Steve Buscemi (walked right by mom on the stairs on way to get popcorn at the movie...stared her down...she stared him down back...also stared down at after party - great sighting for mom - she finds him very fascinating...)
Carson (from Queer Eye...Mom was hoping he'd comment on her cool outfit...but he didn't...)
Rachel Dratch (from SNL - she is super short - shorter then Ma...)
Patricia Clarkson
Kristen Scott Thompson
Stanley Tucci (plays the scary killer in the movie...was UNREAL...VERY scary!!)
Michael Imperioli (Christopher from Sopranos...love him!)
Susan Sarandon (Mom was dying to go up to her and ask how she felt about her daughter going topless on Californication...but she chickened out)
Courtney Love (totally strung out)
Helena Christensen (Dov we thought of you! - HOLY MOLY - she is as pretty in real life as you think she would be)
And last but not least - Marky Mark Wahlberg - Mom was dying to go up to him and say hello Donkey, how's your mother. HA!

Hell of a night. Hell of a night.
